Emergency for Tasnim: let's help her receive a bone marrow transplant
Tasnim is a little girl just 2 years old living in Algeria. She suffers from thalassemia major, a severe blood disorder that prevents her body from producing enough hemoglobin to properly carry oxygen.
To stay alive, Tasnim must receive regular blood transfusions. But these cannot cure her. Repeatedly, they also cause an excessive accumulation of iron in her body, which can gradually damage her vital organs, especially her heart and liver.
Tasnim can no longer live like a child her age. She tires very quickly and cannot run or play normally. She, who loves dancing so much, sometimes watches other children playing outside from the hospital window. Meanwhile, she remains trapped by the disease.
Her parents live in constant fear of losing her. They work, fight every day, and do everything in their power to save her. Unfortunately, they cannot afford the procedure their little girl needs on their own.
Today, Tasnim's only real hope for recovery is a bone marrow transplant. She needs to go to Turkey to receive care as quickly as possible.
Her family reached out to the charity SOS Greffe to support them in this fight and help her access essential care. We are therefore launching this fundraising appeal to finance her medical care and the expenses directly related to her treatment.
The urgency is real. Without prompt care, Tasnim's illness risks progressing further and putting her life in danger.
