Urgent appeal for Salsabil: a liver transplant can save her life
Salsabil is a baby girl born on 13 avril 2024. Since her first weeks of life, she has been suffering from a severe liver disease. Her medical records indicate cholestasis that appeared during the neonatal period, which progressively developed into decompensated liver cirrhosis.
Doctors strongly suspect progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis, a rare and severe genetic disorder. Her condition has already caused several serious complications: fluid accumulation in the abdomen, dehydration, metabolic disorders, and an episode of hepatic encephalopathy. Despite medical care and hospitalizations, her liver continues to deteriorate.
Today, the medical team is clear: Salsabil must undergo a liver transplant as soon as possible.
Her mother contacted the association SOS Greffe in tears, completely distraught. She calls us every day, sometimes ten times a day, living in constant fear of losing her child. Unfortunately, this family does not have the means to fund the transplant and the necessary care in Turquie.
For Salsabil, every day counts. Without this transplant, her condition risks deteriorating rapidly. We are therefore launching this appeal to fund her travel, medical tests, hospitalization, and liver transplant.
Help us save Salsabil.
Even a small donation can make a huge difference. If you cannot contribute financially, please share this appeal around you. Together, we can give her a chance to grow up, play, and live by her mother's side.
Let us not leave this little girl waiting for a miracle. Let us be that miracle.
This fundraiser helps finance medical care, medical equipment, or health-related expenses. Every donation, even small, can lighten this burden and provide genuine support. Unable to donate? Share around you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
