My name is Saned, I am 17 months old and I live in Sétif, Algeria, where I am from.

Recently, I was diagnosed with Cooley's anemia, also known as beta thalassemia major. I suffer from the most severe form of the disease, which can be fatal if left untreated.

Together with my family, we are appealing for your help to fund an emergency procedure.

Since birth, my treatment has relied on regular transfusions to allow me near-normal growth and activity. I spend a large part of my life in the hospital, because without transfusions, I become very weak and lethargic.

I am also prescribed numerous treatments to reduce my iron levels. However, this iron overload inevitably worsens. A bone marrow transplant is my only path to recovery.

My parents seize every opportunity to save me and are knocking on every door. My father works tirelessly, but will never be able to afford such an amount. His salary barely covers our daily living expenses.

We need to raise the sum of 145 000€, necessary for my transfer to a reputable and accredited medical center in Turkey. If we raise the funds, I will be cared for by a wonderful multidisciplinary team and registered with a donor bank to receive my transplant.

For my transplant to succeed, the donor's bone marrow and mine must be compatible.
