Walid is a 4-year-old boy, and he is already battling an extremely serious illness: beta-thalassemia major. His small body no longer produces enough red blood cells.

To survive, Walid must undergo very regular blood transfusions, but these transfusions cause iron overload which progressively damages his organs: the spleen, liver, lungs… His spleen has already had to be removed.

💔 The childhood he cannot live

Since he was 14 months old, Walid has known hospitals more than playgrounds.

At 4 years old, a child should be running, laughing, falling, getting back up, discovering the world… But Walid spends long hours bedridden, on an IV drip, attached to machines.

Physical pain is daily. Fatigue is constant. And behind his child’s eyes, there is already an immense ordeal.

🎯 A hope: a bone marrow transplant in Turkey

Walid’s only chance for recovery is a bone marrow transplant in Turkey. The cost of the intervention and treatment is estimated at 90 000 €.
