I want to live for my children
My name is Karima Bouadi, I am 48 years old, and my life changed overnight. I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a particularly serious form of blood cancer. Without a bone marrow transplant, my chances of survival decrease every day. But I don't want to die.

My name is Karima Bouadi, I am 48 years old, and my life was turned upside down overnight. I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a particularly serious form of blood cancer. Without a bone marrow transplant, my chances of survival diminish each day. But I do not want to die. I want to live.
I am the mother of four daughters, including two very young ones aged 5 and 7. They are my breath, my strength, my light. When they ask me if I am going to get better, I smile at them. I pretend. But as soon as they leave the room, I break down in silence, away from their sight. I hide to cry, because no child should ever see their mother in this state.
Today, I am putting myself forward here, on social media, even though I am a very private, modest woman. I never could have imagined having to expose myself like this, in sickness, in pain. But I have no choice. It is my only chance of survival. If I am doing this, it is solely for my family, for my daughters, so as not to leave them behind.
Here, in Algérie, I cannot receive this transplant. The only option is to go to Turquie, to a specialized center. But the cost is immense. Far beyond our means.
Today, I am very weak: I can no longer walk on my own, and I am receiving regular transfusions because my platelet levels are too low. I can no longer stand, nor even take care of my children. My husband, who is 63 years old, is devastated. Fortunately, my sister helps me every day… but we are at the end of our strength.
I have already lost so much time looking for help, knocking on closed doors. The association SOS Greffes has finally reached out to me. But time is running out.
It is a race against time. I cannot win it alone.
I feel so alone in this hospital room.
I implore you, please help me raise the necessary funds. Help me live, so that my daughters can continue to hear my voice, feel my arms around them. They are counting on me. And today, I am counting on you.
Donate if you can, share if you cannot. Every gesture can save my life.
