SOS GREFFE Surgeries without borders was contacted to allow Islem, 13 years old, residing in Tlemcen in Algeria, to put an end to his ordeal.
This child has infantile malignant osteopetrosis, which is a rare and serious disease that can affect different organs and systems of the body:
Vision problems or even blindness, and hearing impairment.
Hematological disorders and increased susceptibility to infections.
Islem unfortunately suffers from all these symptoms and is going through a real ordeal.
Islem now remains bedridden for the majority of his time.
Every second is suffering and his condition leaves him no respite.
Islem can't take it anymore and despite his combativeness and his courage, his body is gradually giving up on him in the face of this illness that is gnawing at him.
Islem experiences many difficulties in eating.
His parents, friends, and neighbors are mobilizing to help him and asking you to join them in their fight to save Islem or at least ease his terrible suffering and discomfort in the face of this illness.
