Mon histoire

Since childhood, Iyad has been fighting his own battle against thalassemia. Today, he needs a bone marrow transplant to get back to a child's life.

Let's help Iyad receive his transplant ❤️

As Iyad approached his 4th birthday, his family began to notice that he was having more and more difficulty walking and moving around.

After several medical examinations, the diagnosis came: Iyad suffers from thalassemia, a hereditary blood disorder.

Iyad à l’hôpital

This news was a huge upheaval for his mother. But less than a year later, the family had to face a new ordeal: she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After chemotherapy, surgery, and then radiotherapy, her condition thankfully improved for some time.

The family then welcomed a baby girl, Sajda, born on December 28, 2015.

But a few years later, when Iyad was 6 and Sajda was only 2, their mother's cancer returned and had unfortunately spread to her bones.

Despite treatments, her condition progressively deteriorated. After months of illness during which she could no longer stand or walk, their mother passed away on August 18, 2019.

Since childhood, Iyad has therefore been fighting his own battle against thalassemia, with a particularly painful family history.

Today, Iyad needs a bone marrow transplant to have a chance to continue his journey and get back to a child's life.

His family needs our mobilization to fund his care and the necessary treatments.
