In recent days, she unfortunately came very close to death. Her condition was extremely concerning, to the point that we feared the worst, as did the hospital's multidisciplinary teams. But God decided otherwise.
Today, Maha is doing a little better and we would like to share an update on her condition with you:
Her general condition shows a slight improvement, with no particular issues at the moment.
If her condition continues to improve, she might be moved to a standard room as early as next Monday.
Regarding the surgery, her abdomen could not be completely closed. A circular skin suture was performed to avoid excessive pressure. Should dehiscence or a complication occur, emergency revision surgery would be necessary. For now, no complications have been observed.
Maha is currently in the intensive care unit, where photos are strictly prohibited. That is why we cannot share any with you at this time.
We will share more news with you very soon, God willing. Thank you for continuing to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
Today, the good news came when we least expected it. Here is Maha, our wonderful little princess, nestled in her mother's arms.
Here are the very first photos of our little princess after her stay in intensive care. As we previously announced, Maha received a liver transplant made possible thanks to your incredible generosity.
Her condition is improving, by the grace of God. We went through moments of intense anguish: the medical teams were very pessimistic and we feared the worst… But we chose to wait in prayer, with hope.
We are so happy, and our thoughts are also with the other children going through difficult times…
