Some time ago, thanks to your incredible solidarity, we were able to fund little Jouri's bone marrow transplant. An essential step to give her a chance to recover and continue to grow up.
Her journey was particularly difficult. After her transplant, Jouri had to face a serious complication called "graft-versus-host disease" (often nicknamed the war of cells). This reaction occurs when the transplanted cells attack the patient's body. It is a potentially very severe, life-threatening complication that requires intensive medical care.
Together with her, we went through moments of immense worry. Her condition was critical and we were very frightened for her life. But Jouri showed extraordinary courage.
Today, we are glad to share that she is doing well. She returned to Algeria to be with her family, where she is now continuing her medical follow-up. Even though access to specialized care can sometimes be more complex there, her family continues to watch closely over her health and her support continues.
Jouri's fight is not completely over, but thanks to your generosity, she was able to receive the treatment she needed at the most crucial moment. Thanks to you, this little girl now has the opportunity to grow up, play, dream, and build her future.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping to save her life. Your support made all the difference.
